Your website gets visitors but no enquiries. Here’s how to fix it.

Traffic without enquiries usually comes down to a handful of fixable problems: the wrong visitors, an unclear offer, or a form that puts people off. Here is how to find out which.

Step 1: check who is actually visiting

Before changing the website, look at where visitors come from and what they searched. If most traffic arrives from searches that have nothing to do with what you sell, or from countries you do not serve, the problem is the traffic, not the page. Fixing that is an SEO or ads job.

Step 2: the five-second test

Show your home page to someone outside the business for five seconds, then ask: what does this company do, who for, and what should I do next? If they cannot answer all three, most visitors cannot either. The fix is usually a clearer headline, one main button and less clutter at the top of the page.

Step 3: common leaks we find

  • Too many buttons competing: call us, download this, follow us, read the blog.
  • No proof near the button: real client names, case studies or reviews.
  • A contact form asking for ten fields when two would do.
  • Pages that are slow on phones, where much of your traffic usually is.
  • No answer to “what does it cost?” or “what happens after I enquire?”.
  • Enquiries that are never tracked, so nobody knows which pages or campaigns work.

Every tap counts

Most enquiries now start on a phone

Fast pages, one clear next step and proper tracking turn those taps into real conversations with your team.

Step 4: fix, then measure

Write down your current numbers first: visitors per month, enquiries per month, and roughly how many enquiries become clients. Without that baseline you cannot tell whether a change helped. Then make one change at a time where you can, and measure enquiries, not just clicks. Small, well-chosen fixes often matter more than a redesign. If the site is very slow, hard to edit or built on something you cannot change, a rebuild may be the cheaper route over a year.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Not always. Many sites need clearer copy, fewer distractions, a shorter form and proper tracking. We will tell you honestly if a rebuild is the better option.

Ask only for what you need to reply well. For most enquiries that is name and email, with anything else optional.

Track enquiries (form submissions and calls) per page and per source, and compare like-for-like periods. Clicks and time on page alone can mislead.

Run your main pages through Google PageSpeed Insights on mobile. If the main content takes several seconds to appear on a phone, speed is worth fixing first.

A clear statement of what you do and who for, proof from real clients, an honest idea of cost or how pricing works, what happens after someone enquires, and one simple way to get in touch.
